Please enjoy these pictures from some of our guest speakers! Today we welcomed the beginning of Spring with our First Grade Spring Fling! Students were able to choose two of their favorite Spring activities to participate in! Students chose to play soccer, play sidewalk games, have a dance party, use their imagination to build structures using various manipulatives, watch a movie, make bird feeders, and plant seeds! We all enjoyed the beautiful weather!
Don't forget... Spring Break is March 21-March 25 Below are Sight Word Flash Cards that you can download and practice with your student! These words are called 'sight words' because many of them cannot be sounded out and they need to be learned by sight. Once your student can read all of the words in the set confidently and automatically, they have mastered them and can move on to the next set! Not sure of a word yourself?! That's OK! There are any great apps out there to help everyone learn new words! Try downloading Sight Words List- Learn to Read Flash Cards and Games or Sight Words Flash Cards!
In honor of Read Across America Week, tomorrow is dress like your favorite story book character day! Come in dressed as your favorite character!
Please leave all masks and toy weapons at home! Don't forget... Tonight at 6pm we will have Dr. Seuss Pajama Reading Night at school! Come hear some of your favorite stories, meet the Cat in the Hat, make a birthday card, and eat some cake! We hope to see you all there!
