We are spending this week learning all about MONEY! We have been practicing recognizing and naming coins and now we are moving to adding and trading values of coins. This is a VERY DIFFICULT CONCEPT and I really need YOUR help for your child to master money! Below are some great websites and games for your child to play at home, but remember nothing is better than real life practice, so let your child play with coins at home by sorting them into groups, counting them to find the total, and even helping you count money when you go shopping! Let them count the change that you get back from purchases and see if they are right! As we say everyday, the more you practice... the better you get!
It has finally arrived! We are so excited that the 100th day of school is finally here! On Friday, February 26 we will be celebrating our 100th day of First Grade with fun activities, crafts, and even a yummy snack full of 100 things! Please make sure to return the signed permission slip if you want your child to have a 100 day snack and don't forget to start counting 100 mystery items to share with the class on Friday! Happy 100 day!
